About DepositBack
We're on a mission to help tenants fight for their money
Our Mission
DepositBack exists because too many tenants are losing money to unfair deposit deductions — money they've already struggled to save. The problem isn't complicated legal rules; it's that tenants don't know the process, don't have professional documents, and feel intimidated by their landlords.
We believe every tenant deserves to know their rights and have the tools to claim what's rightfully theirs. That's why DepositBack generates professional demand letters, organises evidence, and guides you step-by-step through the dispute process — at a fraction of what a solicitor would charge.

-
✗
Not a guarantee
We can't guarantee you'll win your dispute, but we give you the best chance with professional documents and guidance.
Built by a Tenant Who Learned the Hard Way
DepositBack started because I lived the problem. As an undergraduate, I faced unfair deposit deductions and felt completely overwhelmed. I had no idea what my rights were, what evidence mattered, or how to push back against a landlord who was keeping my money. Like most tenants, I assumed there was nothing I could do.
Years later, having studied law, I realised how straightforward the process actually is — and how different things could have been if I'd known my rights at the time. The law is clear. The deposit protection schemes have fair processes. But most tenants never find out until it's too late. I built DepositBack so that no tenant has to go through what I did without support.
DepositBack is not a law firm and I don't pretend it is. It's a tool that makes the deposit dispute process simple and accessible — helping tenants understand their rights, organise their evidence, and submit professional documents to their deposit scheme. If your landlord is keeping your money unfairly, I want to help you get it back.
